Reiki healing treatments work to balance the body's biological electrical energy (also referred to as 'Chi' in China or 'Ki' in Japan), and to help prevent illness and disease by encouraging natural and healthy balance within the body, mind, and emotions.

How does Reiki Healing work?
Reiki healing is based on the understanding that all illness and disease comes about as a result of the natural flow of biological electrical energy (also known as 'Chi' or 'Ki'), or 'Life-force energy’ within us, being impaired in some way. Reiki healing treatments work directly to unblock any energy blockages in the physical body, mind and emotions, as well as working with the seven main energy centres of the body (also known as chakras), which are the areas of the body which correspond with the body's endocrine (glandular) system, encouraging the 'life-force energy' of a person or animal to flow freely.

How is Reiki Healing Different from Other Natural Therapies?
Essentially, Reiki healing works holistically, by treating the mental, spiritual and emotional causes of stress, illness and disease, as well as, the presenting physical symptoms.
The History of Reiki Healing
The history of Reiki healing being used in healing practice, dates back thousands of years to when Tibetan monks used Reiki to assist with their healing processes, health and well being. Reiki was then re-discovered and successfully used in Japan from around the late 1800’s, and is now widely used and acknowledged to be effective in the treatment of many conditions and to help maintain a balanced state of health and well being in humans and animals. The word Reiki pronounced 'ray-key', is a Japanese word, with two syllables with the translation and meaning being Rei (Universal) and Ki (Life force Energy).
What Happens During A Reiki Healing Treatment?
In a peaceful and nurturing environment, appointments take place during a time period of usually between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
At your first consultation with Elizabeth you will be asked questions about your health and lifestyle, this is an important aspect of treatment as it is beneficial for Elizabeth to have an understanding of all factors that may be affecting your health, including how you feel physically and emotionally. And, therefore, you may be advised accordingly on how you may be able to enhance or implement a healthcare routine in your daily life.
Patients are usually lying down during a treatment session. A patient seated in a chair can also receive Reiki healing. The deep relaxation experienced during treatments often cause patients to fall asleep, or enter into a deep state of relaxation. The patient may, or may not, experience feeling sensations of increased heat in certain areas during a Reiki healing treatment as the practitioner places their hands on, or over, the patients body to work on the patients energy. Whether a patient experiences any sensations, however, does not relate to the effectiveness of the treatment. The treatment in itself is extremely relaxing, and works to promote a calm, peaceful sense of well being.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
This varies on an individual basis, often some effects are experienced just after one treatment, however, and a series of treatments are usually needed to make a significant change in a condition and to monitor a patient’s rate of healing progress.
Typically a patient may choose to visit either on consecutive days in the case of chronic conditions, or alternatively, weekly, until consistent improvement is recorded, progressing to fortnightly and then monthly intervals to maintain balanced health and well-being.
Do General Healthcare Services Offer Reiki Treatments to Patients?
Reiki healing treatments are practiced in various locations including: private practice, complementary therapy centres, GP surgeries, hospitals, hospices, cancer support groups, post operative recovery, drug rehabilitation, prisons, HIV/AIDS centres, and in the care of the elderly, within the UK and globally.
Do General Healthcare Professionals Recognise Reiki Treatments to be Beneficial to Patients?
Many doctors, nurses and practitioners of other therapies, recognise Reiki healing to be an effective complementary therapy, and often learn the skills of becoming a Reiki Healer to help maintain their own personal health, and enhance the effects of their work.
Nurses, particularly in specialist hospitals, who care for patients with severe burns, and in premature baby units, use Reiki healing to enhance the medical procedures and increase the healing processes of patients during their recovery.
Reiki Distance Healing
Reiki healing can be requested to be sent and received by any person, animal, or situation, and is proven to be effective in helping to ease a persons/animals suffering, particularly when emotional and mental healing is called for. Elizabeth provides two optional services for Reiki Distance Healing:
Distance Healing - list (option 1)
Available by email or telephone request: Elizabeth will request that Reiki healing is received by anyone, or situation you feel may benefit from receiving Reiki. For a recipient to receive Reiki Distance Healing, the persons/animals name, and the over all details of a situation and location, are all that is required and their names will be included in a daily healing list.
Please note: For all Reiki Distant Healing requests, please allow a minimum of at least 24 hours notice for your request to be included and processed for Reiki Distant Healing lists with Elizabeth Bailey. For urgent requests please call us directly.
Reiki Healing List Services are provided free of charge. However, many people like to make a donation when receiving healing. If you would like to make a donation a proportion of all voluntary donations received for this service, goes directly towards the funding and transport costs for charities to benefit from Elizabeths work with talks, therapy, and meditation services.
Reiki Distance Healing - Personalised Distance Healing Treatments (option 2)
Personalised Reiki distance healing is a most beneficial way to take full advantage of receiving a full Reiki healing treatment, where ever you are, and at whatever time you wish to receive Reiki healing. Personalised Reiki Distance healing, is also, a wonderful gift to send to a relative/friend/ loved one or pet.
For this service, the person receiving Reiki Distance Healing, takes time to simply relax quietly, while Elizabeth performs a full body Reiki treatment over distance. The duration for this service is offered at either thirty minute, or one hour time frames.
As well as Reiki, Elizabeth also provides charkra balancing as an additional service. Chakra balancing is used to help improve a persons energy levels and over all health and well being.
